McDonald's After $90M Exit
Share
Sam Parr shares a story about being with his friend when they checked his bank account after selling his company for nearly $1 billion.
"I was with a friend that sold his company for close to a billion dollars. I was with him when the money hit the bank. We were at their apartment and he's like 'I think it happened.' We went to the ATM - he previously had $300,000 in his bank which isn't a little amount, but he was 28. We went to the ATM and there was $90 million in the bank account.
Immediately afterwards we went to McDonald's, got a number 1 each, each got a Big Mac, went back to his apartment and watched TV. We were like 'that's pretty cool isn't it.'
The crazy part isn't just the $90 million, but if you do the math conservatively looking at historical averages: $90 million at 30 becomes $200M at 40, which becomes $400M at 50, which becomes $800M at 60, which becomes $1.1B at 70. So you can see it's not just that they have $90 million - it's a surefire way that you're going to be a billionaire while you're alive."
