Four Seasons Acquisition Breakfast

Ramit shares a story about mysterious wealthy investors trying to buy his business over breakfast at the Four Seasons.
"I was at a party in New York and this mysterious guy comes up to me. He had a very generic name, but he knew a lot about my business - more than any normal person would know. He knew the way I structured my funnels, basic conversion rates. I was thinking 'who in the hell is this guy?'
He says 'Hey, I'm gonna be in town in a couple weeks, I'd love to get together for breakfast.' He invites me to the Four Seasons in midtown. When I got there, it was 4 people including me at the table.
I'm chatting with the guy, he's very nice, one guy's silent, and the other guy is sitting there with his arms crossed just listening. At one point, the guy with crossed arms mentioned he vacations in North Carolina. I asked how far his place is from the airport, and he said 'about a 5 hour drive.' I said 'wow that's a long drive' and he goes 'oh I don't take a drive, I take a helicopter.'
That's when I understood what was going on. They wanted to buy over 50% of the business and basically hyper-monetize it. I didn't sell. I thought to myself 'what would I do with the money?' My life is great, I had an assistant, I had a trainer. I'm actually really glad I did not sell because the business went through a big growth spurt in the next few years."
