Animoca Stock Discount Windfall

A story about how Ishan turned a delisted stock purchase of Animoca into millions by buying shares from frustrated shareholders at a massive discount.

"I initially bought like a few thousand worth of Animoca, an Australian listed company. It did well, went up like 4x. Then the Australian stock exchange came after it because they were dealing with crypto stuff and decided to delist them. At that point I had about $25,000 invested which was everything to me.

When it got delisted, I thought my money was gone. But then I did more research into what they were doing and started looking for ways to buy more. I went to Facebook groups where all these disgruntled shareholders were talking about doing a class action against Animoca.

I got the list of top shareholders and went through each one to find who was disgruntled. These were smart money people, already rich, who had this allocation in some fund. They were willing to get rid of it at an 80-90% discount to the last transaction price because it was delisted and they probably didn't even know it was in crypto.

I put everything I had, about $100k, into buying these shares. I was like 'If I lose all this money, alright I'm in my twenties, I'll just get a job and save up again.' The valuation I bought at was like $30-40 million. A few months later, they raised at $1 billion.
