Financial Evolution Journey

Sam shares a story about appreciating his financial growth by comparing his current ability to handle medical expenses versus his parents' struggles when he was younger.

"I got an MRI yesterday and the lady at the front desk showed me the bill for $750. She thought I was going to freak out, but I just said 'Alright, you take Apple Pay?' and scanned my card.

I remember thinking I'm so happy I'm in this spot. I call that 'braces money' - being able to swipe my card and give my kid braces without thinking twice about it. When I was younger, my parents bought me braces and they told me it was $2,000 that they had to pay on a credit card. At the time they had like $6,000, and I remember thinking 'goddamn that sucks.' I would be a lot happier if I had $9 million in the bank as opposed to $9,000 or whatever they had."
