Meta Employees Discuss Threads

Sam Parr shares a story about overhearing a Meta employee discussing the Threads launch at dinner in Williamsburg.
"I went out to dinner last night in Williamsburg and I sat next to this guy who worked at Meta on the Threads team. I texted my wife Sarah, 'let's just not talk' and we just listened to this guy talk for 2 hours about launch week and what it was like.
He was saying it was the most exciting time in his career. This guy was so bought in to the Threads movement. He was even talking about how much money he was making - it was 7 figures a year.
The funny part was, they were having these sensitive conversations about compensation while the waitress was taking their order. They said things like 'Yeah, it's not that big of a deal, you can just go get a director role at a startup and get a million dollar package.' They were saying this as the woman was waiting to see if they wanted dessert. It was so embarrassing and obnoxious - they didn't catch the social cue that you should lower your voice when discussing those topics."
