A story about how Shaan created a viral video applying to be CEO of the All-In Podcast, demonstrating effective newsjacking.
"I made this video applying to be CEO of the All-In podcast. The All-In pod is billionaires talking about billionaire stuff, and they were hiring a CEO to turn it into a real brand. I thought it would be funny to do a joke application.
I recorded this video, but I only wrote at the very end that it was a joke and not meant to be taken seriously. People started texting my dad saying 'Hey I heard Shaan's gonna get the job for CEO All-In, congratulations.' My dad's like 'What's All-In? What's a podcast?'
The video got 1.1 million views. They played it on their podcast, but they only played the first 5-10 seconds where it sounds like I'm serious about it, and then cut off all the parts where I start roasting them - which was actually the best roast back they could have done."
