Sacca's Prophetic Note

A story about how Chris Sacca wrote a note to himself at age 20 describing his future career, despite not knowing what a venture capitalist was, and ended up achieving exactly what he envisioned.

"When I was 20 years old, I'm living in Cork, Ireland, and we'd start the day drinking at 11:30. I had never heard of an investment banker, never heard of a venture capitalist. I wrote in there: I don't know what the job is called, but I know it's going to involve a lot of talking on the phone, a lot of negotiating, a lot of yelling at people, high risk high reward, unbelievably high stakes. And I'm going to do it part time from the mountains, part time from the beach, whatever it is. I'm gonna be done with it before I'm 40."

Fast forward to age 40-41, he became a billionaire venture capitalist, had a house in Truckee and another on the beach, and retired from the game just as he predicted. He achieved exactly what he described - the mountains, the beach, the deal-making career - without even knowing what a VC was when he wrote it.
