Prison Boxing Innovation

Billy McFarland shares a story about how he stayed creative and active while in prison by training in boxing.
"I trained a lot of boxing. I had a cellmate who was a former Puerto Rican professional boxer and he would train me. We didn't have proper equipment, so guys would take toilet paper rolls and wrap them in tube socks to use as mitts.
It was about finding creative ways to exercise and free your mind. You weren't supposed to practice martial arts, but you could go in the back and have the guy hold your mitts for half an hour and kind of get away with it. It was a good way to escape."
