Their top line revenue grew 20% last year to $150 million in revenue, with a valuation around $500 million plus. They succeeded by taking a traditional product and modernizing the distribution through Facebook ads, similar to how previous brands used TV ads. The next generation of similar products will likely succeed through TikTok and Instagram Reels.
What's interesting is that while distribution channels change, the core marketing hooks remain timeless. Like the famous Wall Street Journal ad from decades ago that told a story of two young men - one who subscribed and one who didn't - these fundamental marketing principles still work today, just on new platforms."
