Google Search Pattern Hiring

A story about how Google secretly recruited someone through their search pattern behavior.

"This was one of the very first articles The Hustle ever wrote, about my friend named Max. He was teaching himself some type of coding language - a rare language. He was typing all these things on Google like 'what does [blank] mean' and 'how do you do [blank].'

After a while, his Chrome browser went and looked like the Matrix. A message appeared saying 'You look like you might belong to one of us' and 'We've noticed that you've been googling a lot about this type of language and we are hiring for that. Would you be interested in applying here?'

We wrote an article about this titled 'Google has a secret interview process and it landed me a job.' The article got seen by millions of people, and he ended up working there. It worked, and it was wild."
