Perell's Purposeful Studio

Sam Parr shares a story about visiting David Perell's meticulously designed podcast studio apartment in Austin.

"I went to David's apartment in Austin. He lives in the building but also rented this other apartment. When you walk in, it feels almost like an Airbnb or maybe like you're walking into a Restoration Hardware store - everything is perfectly set up.

David is really OCD. It's a 2-3 bedroom apartment where they knocked down one wall. One room is the studio where we sit, another room is the guest room where if you're a guest you can stay there. There's records on the wall, books on the shelf. I asked David 'Do all these have meaning?' He goes 'Of course you know me, every single thing here has a purpose and has a story.'

He perfectly picked everything in the studio. Everything at David's place is on purpose and it all has a story. I sent you a video saying we have to step it up - this guy is so particular. All of his standards were perfect. The guy is sweating the details."
