Research Content Framework
Share
A framework for structuring research and content to make it more engaging and actionable. Based on Shaan Puri's system for his researchers.
Core Structure Components
-
Frame
- How to introduce the topic naturally in conversation
- Creates context and hooks audience interest
- Example: Instead of just "growth hack", frame it as "Here are 3 favorite growth hacks from the past year"
-
Talking Points
- 4-5 interesting bullet points that support the frame
- Need to make listeners think "oh that's cool/interesting"
- Should be specific and memorable details
- Focus on dense, valuable information
-
Take/Takeaway
- The actionable insight or lesson
- What should people actually do with this information
- Example: Don't just monetize with newsletters/communities, monetize by selling the actual product
Implementation Tips
- Fill out all three components for every story/topic
- Even if researchers do it poorly, having the structure helps shape better content
- Use an Excel table to organize the components
- Focus on making each element build on the others cohesively
Key Principles
- Remove fluff and focus on dense, valuable information
- Structure makes content more digestible and memorable
- Frame should naturally lead into the conversation
- Takeaways should be actionable and practical
- System helps filter and improve raw research into usable content
The framework serves as both a research tool and content development system, helping transform raw information into structured, engaging content.
