Google Account Sparks Facebook

A story about how Hint Water unexpectedly landed Google as their biggest account through a job interview, which then led to Facebook.
"I was having conversations with Omid Kordestani at Google about a job. He kept upping the salary, but I told him I didn't want to commute to Mountain View and wanted to focus on Hint. During our conversation, he jokingly asked if I had a sample of the product. I pulled it out of my bag, and he said 'of course you have a sample.'
He connected me with Charlie, their chef, who called asking for samples. Within a couple days, he called back asking if we had more supply. Within two weeks of that conversation, Google became our number one retailer, quickly overtaking Whole Foods.
Later, when Sheryl Sandberg's assistant left Google for Facebook, she called me and asked if we would deliver to Facebook - they were still in Palo Alto at the time. It wasn't strategic planning - it just happened organically. Google was really focused on having healthier products, not just drinks but food too. They were very early in embracing that."
