When discussing whether Sam should have had kids earlier in life, Shaan reminds him of his situation 4 years ago: "You're living on 6th street in San Francisco, you're stressed out building your company, making $37,000 a year."
Sam adds color to this period, saying he was "learning the difference between meth, crack, and heroin and like the different ways in which you put it in your body walking around SOMA."
Shaan concludes this wasn't the right time for kids, saying "I don't think that was the right time to have the kid. I think my advice was good to say wait."
