TwitchCon Merch Lines

Sam and Shaan discuss how TwitchCon's merchandise sales demonstrate untapped revenue potential at creator events.
"At TwitchCon, the merch store line is incredible. Imagine the San Diego conference center, which is like a 3-mile long building - the line is the entire 3 miles. It's the craziest line you've ever seen, with people waiting hours to buy a hoodie.
I asked how much we were making off this, and it was run by just a 2-person team. It wasn't really the main focus. The event had sponsored stuff and revenue, but I felt there could be so much more potential to commercialize it.
At Twitch's size, you don't need to worry about making a couple million off this thing. But think about how many people didn't wait in this 4-hour line. That's just one example of missed opportunity. For smaller companies like ClickFunnels or The Hustle, a marketing event that makes $500k or $1.5M is actually quite meaningful compared to losing that amount, which is where most companies default to."
