Breaking Points' Rogan Rise

A story about how Breaking Points, a political talk show, grew their audience and eventually got recognition from Joe Rogan.

"Breaking Points started as a YouTube show. The founder Sagar explained how they got their first 1,000 customers. He saw who were the top 1% popular accounts in his niche, and decided the first content they'd create would be content those accounts would love, because if they loved it, they'd share it and endorse it.

They focused on providing what these accounts needed - data, visualizations, charts, and quick transcripts of political speeches. He would sit there when Trump was talking, transcribe it, clean it up, format it, and be the first to post 'Trump said this.' Those guys would retweet it, and that's how they got their first 10,000 subscribers.

After you get 10,000, psychologically there's this thing where you'll start growing faster because people want to follow popular accounts. Then Joe Rogan became a fan of the show and reached out saying 'Hey I love the show guys.' They were surprised because early on, they weren't sure if they were doing the right thing - they had quit their jobs to do this and it wasn't huge yet.

Joe's endorsement made them think 'Wow, if the number one podcaster in the world thinks this is awesome, maybe we're onto something.' They kept going, Joe invited them on his show, and they've since launched paid subscriptions and grown significantly."
