Hubspot AI Stock Surge

Sam Parr shares a story about how Hubspot's CTO Dharmesh Shah's AI strategy discussion led to a significant stock price increase.

"Hubspot had an earnings call 2-3 weeks ago. Dharmesh doesn't talk much on earnings calls - he's not the CEO. Someone asked the CEO about AI and Yamini goes 'I'm gonna let Dharmesh say what he needs to say.'

He gave almost the exact same explanation about AI that he gave on our podcast. If you look at the stock since that talk, it's up 15%. It was around $420-440 the day before earnings, now it's close to $500.

Barron's just came out with an article saying companies that will succeed with AI aren't AI companies but big companies that will use AI, like Hubspot. What's fascinating is we saw it all happen - he told us his opinion on our pod, then explained it on the earnings call to bankers. He talked about how they started chatspot within Hubspot. He explained it simply to us, then more corporate on the analyst calls, and it created something like a billion dollars in enterprise value."
