Female Authors Backlash

Shaan tells a story about receiving backlash on social media for sharing his favorite books list.
"I tweeted out 5 of my favorite books and then people start commenting 'there's not one woman on this list.' I go 'these are my favorite books, what are you talking about? I have to have 50% diversity in my favorite books?'
I replied 'all my favorite NBA players are black' and that totally triggered everybody. I am not apologizing because I named 5 of my favorite books and they just happen to be written by men. That's not at all what I'm talking about.
I call these people meter maids - they just run around the internet looking for little tickets they could give out. Where can they go be offended? 'Oh you weren't inclusive enough for me - ticket!' I was like what are you talking about, that's not even what this was about."
