FTX Censored Alameda Mentions

A story about how FTX tried to control the narrative around their relationship with Alameda Research in sponsored content.
"When FTX advertised with us, they asked us to write a story about them. We said we'd write about how they grew so fast, what tactics they used. Ben and I were talking and thought the story was too rosy since it was sponsored content. We wanted to balance it out by including some concerns.
One of the main criticisms was about Alameda Research. Before starting FTX, Sam started Alameda Research, which wasn't actually a research company - it was a trading company. They just called it 'research' to sound more serious.
When we wrote about the relationship between FTX and Alameda, and how nobody really knew the true extent of this relationship between the two companies, they told us to take that part out. Instead of clarifying the relationship, they just wanted us to pause the whole story. They said 'crypto market prices are going down, we don't want to be bragging about how well we're doing.'
That was a small red flag to me. I was surprised that instead of clarifying the relationship, they just said 'don't talk about that.'"
