GoPuff's Campus Delivery Success

A story about how GoPuff, a campus delivery service, grew from a small startup to raising significant funding.

"There's this company called GoPuff - they're doing over $163 million a year right now. They started as just two kids out of somewhere in middle America. What they do is buy popular stuff that college kids want - Ben & Jerry's, chips, beer - put it in an apartment, and deliver it on scooters when ordered. The average cart is $16, they make $5 per delivery, and they operate in a tight geographic boundary.

They started small but then SoftBank invested in them recently with a huge round. They've now raised $866 million total. It's interesting because they started as just two college kids, but then SoftBank backed up the truck and put what I call 'the touch of death' on this company. But I still think this market works - there are a lot of college campuses out there to make this work."
