MFM Download Growth

A story about how My First Million podcast grew from its early days to current success.
"When we launched the pod, we had between 1 and 1.5 million subscribers at the Hustle. Sean sent me a pilot episode, and I thought it was great. That first week we launched, the first episode got 50 or 60,000 downloads. The next episode got 30 or 40,000, and then it just ticked down until it was around 5 to 15,000 downloads per episode.
This is how many pods work - your launch is epic, then you go down, and over a couple of years you slowly work your way up. Then one day, one of Sean's guests didn't show up. He asked me to fill in since we used to meet every two weeks to brainstorm in front of people. The results were decent enough that we decided to make it the thing and keep trying.
When we got acquired about 18 months ago, we were doing 600,000 downloads per month. Then it went up significantly from there, though I don't actually know why it went up. Now we're between 50,000 to 150,000 downloads per episode, and if you include YouTube, some episodes pop up to around half a million views."
