Native Deodorant's $500K Exit

A story about how Suleman Ali's brother built and sold Native Deodorant with minimal investment.

"My brother built Native Deodorant and raised almost no money - just $500,000. He built it up basically by himself with a very small, lean team. They were packing deodorant at the kitchen table in the apartment. He sold that thing for $100 million when it was highly profitable the whole way.

He followed the Native playbook: raise little capital, focus on profitability, acquire customers so you're breakeven or profitable on the first purchase, and scale through repeat purchases that generate a ton of profit. Then use that profit to either reinvest in the business to launch new products or take distributions.

Now he goes to work out for 2 hours in the middle of the day, and next week he's going to Japan just for fun to look at the cherry blossom festival. It's very easy to be seduced by quality of life and easy quests."
