Wubbles' Explosive Growth
Share
Sean Frank shares the success story of The Wubbles, a crocheting product company.
"The Wubbles is crushing it. It's a crocheting product where you make little characters. They have licensing and educational components. It's either for young people to have less screen time or for parents to do with their kids to reduce screen time.
When I met them, they might've been doing $10 million a year. In two years, they've gone from 10 to probably $150 million in revenue with no capital raised. They still won't launch subscription boxes though I think it would be perfect for them - they could have new characters every month delivered to your door.
It's educational, fun, connects families, and taps into the movement against screen time. It's the single best brand and execution I've ever seen. This will be a billion dollar exit because they're so good at it, and they've never raised any money - just two people putting it together in North Carolina.
I think it's a husband and wife team. She was just crocheting and wanted to have little guides. There was an Etsy community selling crochet guides, so she would buy them, then decided to make her own. She started releasing them, then thought 'maybe I should just sell my little crochet kits' - and it exploded."
