Facebook Internal Training Podcasts

A story about discovering Facebook's internal podcast program for employee training.

"I used to go to this podcast studio before we built our own, and I was talking to the guy who ran it. One day, I asked if I could get an 11am slot tomorrow, and he said they were booked from 11 to 3. I asked who else was using the studio, and he told me it was Facebook.

Facebook had this internal podcast that they do for their employees. They have managers come in and record podcasts about managing at Facebook, and it gets distributed only internally. They have tens of thousands of employees, and they use this as a way to put out content and training.

This was my first time hearing about these internal publishing systems. It makes sense - companies need ways to communicate things like 'here's how we're addressing situations,' 'here's what we're going to say,' 'here's why we're quitting this product,' or 'here's how to use the internal software.' It was fascinating to learn that companies were using podcasts for internal communication."
