Zero-Capital Egg Business
Share
A story about how a recent college graduate acquired a profitable business using creative financing.
"We did an episode with Sarah Moore - she graduated from college and wanted to buy a business instead of starting one because she didn't have a great idea. She searched locally for any business that was already doing about $1 million of profit a year.
She found an egg carton business - literally the styrofoam container for eggs. Using an SBA loan and seller financing, she was able to buy this business using $0 of her own money. She now owns the business outright herself, and it does $1 million of profit a year.
This was the fastest path for her because she bought a business that had already gone through the startup learning curve and bumps and bruises to get going. She bought something that already had cash flow, and now she can run it better by implementing modern marketing practices that the retiring owner never used, like Google ads, which could grow the business 20-30%."
