OpenSea's CryptoKitties Timing
Share
Nader shares a story about meeting OpenSea's cofounder during the early days of NFTs, highlighting how crypto projects can survive quiet periods.
"I have a funny story. During the CryptoKitties hype, I gave a talk about my project (a stablecoin). The cofounder of OpenSea, Xander Tala, was at the talk. He came up to me after and said 'Hey man, I'm thinking about this NFT thing, we're gonna make a marketplace for things like CryptoKitties.'
I responded, 'Dude really, what are you doing with your life? NFTs are dumb, that's never gonna happen again.' But crypto has a way of playing dead for a while when there's an interesting concept, and then people realize it and it comes back.
This shows that when you have a really good concept, sometimes it just takes time for the market to figure it out."
