Andrew Wilkinson shares how he found a successful developer for his Gmail plugin Mailman through Twitter.
"I tweeted out 'Hey, I've got this idea for a Gmail plugin, I need someone to build it, who wants to build it?' This guy Mohit in India messaged me, sent me a great email and said 'Tell me what you want to do and I'll have it to you in 48 hours.' And he did.
Over and over again he just kept delivering. Now we not only have Mailman, but we actually started a holding company in India and we're looking at acquisitions. We've got him managing some of our businesses.
I did the exact same thing with another business idea where I went to a different guy, and he just didn't make any progress. After 3 months it wasn't working out and we went a different direction. About 50% of the time it works really well."
