Movement Reveals Fitness

Shaan shares a story about realizing his fitness level through basic movements, which led to setting unique fitness goals.
"When my trainer asked about my goals, I think for every other client they say things like 'I want to lose weight' or 'I have a wedding coming up' or 'I want to look good with my shirt off.' But I told him: 'When I stand up from sitting, I feel like an old man. I don't get up like an athletic person.'
When we do exercises on the ground and need to get up, I don't want it to be this whole process of 'Oh, hold on, I gotta get on my elbow, then my knee, then put both hands on the ground like a tripod, then I'm up.' That's how I was moving.
Same thing when I run - I didn't know if I ran right, I thought my gait was all messed up. So we spent a lot of time fixing my walking gait, my sitting posture, and my morning habits of how to get loose. These things became very motivating when I started seeing results - being smoother when I run, smoother when I walk, getting up more easily, and being able to crouch down and play with my kids."
