A story about an overengineered approach to dating by a successful entrepreneur.
"There was this guy - total catch, smart, good looking, ripped, successful. I thought someone like him could just walk into a coffee shop and the cute barista would want to talk to him. Instead, he built this whole system.
He started with his desired result - he wanted a beautiful, intelligent, successful woman who fit his heritage. So he built an AI bot to crawl LinkedIn and scrape profiles of successful women, trained on images of women he found beautiful. He targeted every woman of a certain look in New York between 22 and 30.
He had binders of women and a dedicated iPhone. He told me 'I have two full-time engineers who built this program that auto-DMs them on Instagram.' When I asked about voice notes, he said 'I have found that voice notes convert better.'
It was fascinating because when he showed this system, it was like a Rorschach test. Some people were like 'This is the most impressive thing I've ever seen,' while the married guys in their 40s and 50s were like 'Brother, you're doing too much. Just see a cute girl and go talk to her, let it roll organically.'"
