Hampton's Founder Survey Platform
Share
Sam Parr shares how his company Hampton uses surveys to acquire customers.
"I've got this company called Hampton - joinhampton.com. It's a community for founders doing between 2 million all the way up to 250 million dollars a year in revenue. One of the ways we've grown is through creating cool surveys.
We have founders with high net worth and we ask them questions that people are typically embarrassed to ask but provide a lot of value - things like how much founders pay themselves each month, how much money they're spending, what their payroll looks like, if they're optimistic about the next year in their business.
We created a landing page using Hubspot that shows all the questions we asked and asks for an email to access the results. I shared this page on Twitter and got thousands of people to give us their email. From there, we could track how many of those people actually signed up and became members of Hampton, seeing exactly how much revenue came from the survey and each traffic source."

After four successful years, he sold The Hustle to HubSpot, a publicly traded company. Now operating as HubSpot Media, The Hustle reaches 3 million readers daily, employs a team of nearly 100, and has been the launchpad for dozens of its staff to found their own media companies and newsletters.
Sam remains the host of the popular business podcast, My First Million, and continues to start and sell companies. He also co-founded Hampton, a highly vetted community for entrepreneurs, founders, and CEOs, and teaches people to write better through his platform, Copy That.
