SF Peer Group Spawns Success
Share
A story about how Shaan and Sam's original peer group in San Francisco led to multiple successful companies and relationships.
"That's how we met - we made a peer group in San Francisco when we didn't know anything about running our companies. From that group came a billion dollar company, a hundred million dollar company, a thirty million dollar company, and yes - two failures. But one of those people became the best man at my wedding, and another became someone I ended up investing in.
The podcast also came out of that group, which has become one of the top business podcasts. That peer group actually helped me when I sold The Hustle successfully. I remember in our peer groups, I was saying I'm gonna do The Hustle - first it was an events business, then no, next month it became a blog business."
The story demonstrates how peer groups can lead to both business success and meaningful relationships, which became the foundation for Sam's current company Hampton.
