Kanye's Receptionist Persistence

A story about Kanye West's persistence early in his career, when he played his soon-to-be hit song "All Falls Down" in a record label's reception area.

"There was a scene where he was in a record label reception room. There was this woman standing there and he was like 'Hey can I talk to whoever' and she kind of ignored him. Then he just started rapping and playing 'All Falls Down' before it became a hit. The receptionist would get up for a minute, make phone calls, and had to walk by because there was someone at the door - all while he's playing what would become one of his biggest hits.

What's crazy is that these women working there, who looked like young people in the music industry, would later become 100% fans of that song when it came out. But in that moment, they didn't recognize what was right in front of them. It really shows how hard it is to spot talent before it becomes obvious to everyone else."
