Gebbia Avoids Microplastics
Share
A story about how Joe Gebbia, Airbnb co-founder, is conscious about avoiding microplastics in his drinking water.
"At the camp, microplastics are all the rage right now. I'm in rich guy circles and people are like 'I had my gut tested, my microplastics are off the charts.' They're like 'What? But you're so conscious about it!' And the person was like 'Yeah, I know, and I'm conscious about it and I still have like a credit card in my belly of plastic.'
I noticed Joe Gebbia, the Airbnb guy - we were all drinking water from Fiji water bottles. They had like a thousand Fijis, and I was living large, everywhere I look I could just grab ice-cold Fiji. But Fiji comes in plastic, and I noticed he's only drinking from his own bottle that he sourced from somewhere.
I was like 'Does this man bring his own water on the trip?' He doesn't say anything of course, he's not preaching to anybody. But I'm like 'I notice you're only drinking that - is there something good about that?' He's like 'I just try to avoid plastics.' He only drinks glass water. Immediately went home, ordered it, and since then I've only been drinking this."
