Warehouse 90% Turnover

A discussion about the high turnover rate in warehouse operations and why robots might be necessary.

"We use a 3PL now, but before when we had it in-house, every year we would replace 90% of the team. Amazon, who employs tens or hundreds of thousands of warehouse workers, had a 100% turnover rate.

I remember talking to Brett from Figr and asking, 'Brett, are you preparing to be the most hated man in America?' And he responded, 'Well, why?' I said, 'Because you're taking jobs.' He explained, 'I'm not actually taking jobs. There's all these warehouses that no one will work at - they literally cannot convince people to work there, whether they can't afford it or people aren't interested in that type of work. Plus, the average turnover is 100%, so they just can't keep people in these jobs for a long time.'"
