Facebook Like Button Origins

Shaan shares how Facebook's iconic Like button, which became the most clicked button in history, emerged from a casual company hackathon.

"With Facebook, out of their hackathons, which were their version of 'let's just build some shit, forget the process, forget the product, forget the road map, forget everything - let's just build some shit tonight, have beer and pizza.' I think the Like button came out of that - the most pushed button in the history of the universe came out of somebody in a hackathon saying 'hey, what if we added that to our product?'"

This illustrates how some of the most impactful features can come from giving employees freedom to experiment and build without constraints.
