Brothers' Cancer-Inspired Business
Share
A story about how two teenage brothers started Brother Nuts after their father was diagnosed with cancer and their mother created healthy snack alternatives.
"Our business started back in 2010 when my father was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer. He was given 7 weeks to live, and through changes in diet and lifestyle, turned that 7 weeks into 7 years. One of the biggest issues him and my family had was finding a snack that was as healthy as it was tasty.
Our current day CFO - aka Chief Flavor Officer, aka Mom - being the amazing mom that she is, went to work and created what is now known as the crackled cheesy almonds. My family and friends were astonished to see that these were as healthy as they were flavorful and very crunchy.
I started this company when I was 13 years old when my father passed away, with my older brother who was 15. Over the last 7 years, we've done over $1,000,000 in sales, sold over $1,000,000 worth of nuts, and we're currently available in 200 retail locations. Everything we're doing is to grow his legacy and to create my own along with my brother's."
