Katz's Creator-Driven Tools
Share
Austin Rief shares a story about how a woodworking creator built a successful business by partnering with other creators.
"There's this guy Jonathan Moses Katz. He was a big woodworking creator and he built tools for his audience. It's cool because obviously he's a woodworker so he can build them himself. He crushes it with traffic.
What he started to do is partner with every other woodworking creator and said 'Hey look, I'm crushing it selling a bunch of widgets to my audience. Let me make you your own custom little thing in your woodworking niche, and I'm gonna help you sell them as well. Then we can build a collective store of all our products.'
If one creator sells on behalf of another creator, they kick them an affiliate fee. This became a big business - I wouldn't be surprised if it does more than $50 million in revenue."
