College Weekend Shows

Mike Posner shares how he balanced being a college student at Duke while touring and performing shows.

"Senior year I had set up all my classes Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. I'd leave Thursday night, do shows Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday night. I'd get 3 checks, come back, have a bunch of cash, go to the bank, put it in the bank, come back to my house - this dirty filthy house - go to class again. I was doing homework on the planes. It was insane.

At the start they'd pay me $500. My boy Pat Klein, who became my manager later, booked me at Dayton Ohio. I'd go there and there'd be 25-50 people, I'd do my set and they'd know every word to my song. A month later he'd book me to come back, there'd be 300 people there, every word to my song. And it just started to expand like that."
