"Owning Manhattan"

Shaan shares a story about a character from the Netflix show "Owning Manhattan" featuring real estate broker Ryan Serhant.

"There's one young agent who's basically the controversial guy on the scene. He's talented but he's an asshole. He's fully tatted up, used to be a model in Norway or something. Super good looking, super tatted up guy who's super cocky and arrogant. He's only 25 years old.

He says things like, 'If you're young, if you made it on YouTube or you're a rapper, you don't want to buy from some bald headed used car salesman looking guy in a cheap suit. You want to buy from me. I'm the next generation.'

Ryan believes in this guy because he's clearly talented, but he's also like, 'Dude, why are you such a jerk around the office? You're making my life hard by being a jerk.'

There's a scene at the end where Ryan confronts this guy. He says, 'You spend so much of your time trying to get noticed instead of spending your time trying to be great. If you spent half the time just trying to be great, you'd be so great that everybody would have to notice you.'"
