Gebbia's Creative Void

A story about how Joe Gebbia, Airbnb co-founder, realizes he's missing creative expression in his daily routine despite his success.

"Last night I was at dinner with Joe Gebbia, founder of Airbnb. We were talking about the perfect Tuesday - what's a dream average day. I asked him how close he was to his perfect Tuesday. He's got all the resources in the world, sold Airbnb, they went public, it's a super success.

He said 'I go to the gym for my physical fulfillment, and then I work which is great and I feel productive and useful to the world, and I have my family which is love. But I don't really make time for creativity anymore.' He's a designer by trade and he said 'I would need like a creative gym. If I sat down and started sketching, it would almost feel like I'm wasting time.'"
