Dumpster SEO Success
Share
A story about how a guy named Ian built a successful business connecting dumpster renters with vendors through SEO and lead generation.
"This guy joined Hampton and I saw his company was called Dumpster Enterprises. He learned a little about SEO and web design, started making some how-to-make-money websites that were only going okay. Then he randomly met this guy because he was trying to rent a dumpster for his house.
He meets this dumpster vendor who says 'I don't know how to do any of this SEO stuff, but I know all these vendors similar to me.' The vendor asked if he could have Ian's vendor list and work out a deal.
After 2 years, he builds dumpsterenterprises.com. In year 2, he did $2.1 million in revenue. The business works by having people type in their zip code for a dumpster, then he forwards that lead to vendors he's vetted. They pay him around $100 for the lead, he's able to profit $50 because that's how much it costs him to get the leads.
He only spent $26,000 in advertising and marketing. The business made about $280,000 in profit. He told me 'This is a business that didn't take me long to set up. I work a few hours a day and travel a lot.' It's become a business that's on cruise control."
