A story about how Shaan Puri hosts an annual entrepreneurial retreat called Camp MFM that combines basketball with business networking.
"I host this camp called Camp MFM, a once-a-year retreat with MrBeast where we get 20 entrepreneurs living in one house together for 3 days. What's cool about this is it started a movement. After people heard about it on the podcast, they started doing their own versions.
Danny Miranda has a running club thing. Pat Walls from Starter Story was like 'What if we did this for tennis/pickleball?' and they called it the MRR Open. This guy Victor in Hampton messaged me saying he heard about Camp MFM and did a poker getaway weekend where he rented a house and invited people to play poker all weekend.
I think this is the new wave of getting together. People don't drink anymore - everyone's sober as a salad. Nobody wants to just sit at a conference or lecture hall and listen to speakers - it's kind of boring. You want to weave it in with these activities. I think this kind of active conference thing is cool, and more people should make these. I'm just hoping I get credit for starting this movement."
