A story about how Dana White and the UFC managed to continue operations during COVID by creating "Fight Island."
"When COVID happened, that kills the business. There was no other business - you can't just turn off a business for a year and hope it's all gonna be okay. But Dana not only was in a sport that survived COVID where it got shut down and couldn't do live events for over a year, he was the first sport back.
He created something called Fight Island. He created a bubble where he said 'Cool, we'll test everybody when they get here, and now everybody here is tested, nobody comes in or out.' He found an island in the middle east where they could do this, and he branded it as Fight Island.
They were the first sport back - it was incredible. He was used to this kind of problem-solving. He was the first sport back when every other sport was shut down."
