FarmCon COVID Spread

Shaan tells a story about how attending FarmCon led to his entire family getting COVID.

"I went to this conference in Kansas City and everything that could happen to get COVID happened. It's 2,000 people in one ballroom, no masks on except for me and Ben. Then I go to the gym between sessions, meet this guy making small talk, turns out he's quarantining there because his girlfriend has COVID - and I had just shaken his hand.

Finally, heading home, the plane gets stuck on the runway for 3 hours - I'm in a closed tube with a bunch of people. Sure enough, I get home and 2 days later I get COVID. The dumb thing is I didn't quarantine right away, which I should have done. I had just left my wife at home with two babies for 4 days, so I wanted to come back and help. In trying to help, I ended up giving my wife COVID, then we gave both our babies COVID.

For the last 10 days, someone in my house has had COVID at any given time. I haven't gone to a computer, haven't done anything. I got really sick for 3 days - it was just like the flu but with a side dose of paranoia because it's COVID. The worst part is I'm a huge baby when I get sick, while my wife is one of those people who never gets sick. She fought it off pretty good, it was pretty mild for her, while I went down like a bag of bricks."
