Nevo's Networking Billions

A mysterious tale about Vivi Nevo, who inherited $3M from his parents' chemical company and transformed himself into a powerful, well-connected billionaire.

"He was born in Romania, eventually moves to Israel, and his parents die when he's in his twenties. His parents were very successful - they owned a chemical company and left him about $3M. He was obsessed with Hollywood, so he moves to LA wanting to make it in the entertainment business.

He convinced some guy he met at a gym to hire him at an investment bank. The guy, Burke, later went on record saying: 'Somehow he just starts showing up at my office. He was incredibly engaging, but he didn't do anything. All the traders were wondering what he even did. He didn't keep a schedule, he was like a hummingbird - so ADD, jumping from thing to thing.'

Then suddenly he disappeared. Burke went to his apartment to check on him - he had moved out. No records, couldn't find him in the yellow pages. He comes back 3-4 years later completely different - dressing fancy, hanging out with celebrities.

Now he claims to be one of the largest shareholders in Time Warner, Goldman Sachs, Twitter, and Square. He owns mansions filled with millions in artwork, Lenny Kravitz lives in one of his guest homes. He's engaged to one of the most famous actresses in China. He's always at the biggest events with Leonardo DiCaprio and other celebrities.

The fascinating thing is no one can figure out what he actually does. Reporters can't trace his wealth. But billionaire after billionaire says the same thing - 'He's one of my best friends, he's the most charismatic person we've ever met.' My theory is he made his wealth by connecting powerful people and getting equity in various businesses. He basically disappeared in his thirties, came back with a new persona, and became that person."
