NYC Impromptu Meetup Success

Sam Parr shares a story about organizing a last-minute meetup in NYC for his newsletter subscribers.

"On Sunday night, I tweeted that I rented an Airbnb and was going to host a meetup. I got 200 replies saying 'let's meet up.' I couldn't accommodate everyone, so I only let 20 Trend subscribers come. Eventually, 30 people showed up and it was awesome.

This one kid flew up from South Carolina. There was no preparation - we landed Monday morning, went to the Mexican place next door and said 'Can you bring over enough tacos for 20 people? Here's $200-300, and go buy some beer.'

The people who came were fascinating. One guy, the eldest there in his forties or fifties, built custom electric cars and sold 50 cars to another company. They took pickup trucks and converted them into electric delivery vans for a cannabis company in LA. Another guy, Hunter Fairchild, sells breast implants for a living. We were sitting there with this girl Aditi, and when Hunter told us what he did, we started asking him about his sales process and how he demonstrates his products. It was crazy - I had never heard of such a thing."
