"At South by Southwest, everybody used to go up to Garrett Camp's room. There were like 15 people that were all loose friends with a lot of mutual respect. It wasn't a paid party or some event with sponsors.

They were there to talk about where they think the puck is going and then debate. That's how Matt Mazzio got in with Chris Sacca. Sacca was like 'Who's this guy that has really interesting things to say?' Matt was an agent at CAA in Hollywood, and Sacca thought he should be in the tech world, so he recruited him.

A lot of the guys who invested in Uber early on like Garrett and Travis were in the room. Gary V was in the room too. It's become this legendary story, and it made me realize I need to get into rooms like that or make rooms like that."
