Epirus Bake Off Victory

A story about how Epirus, a defense technology company, won a government contract by demonstrating their product's superior capabilities.

"He told the story where he's like 'How do you sell to these 3-letter agencies?' It's very hard because there's decades-long relationships with the traditional companies. The big thing we always try to do is get to a bake off. We have to get to a contest of our product versus their product because we can win on product - we have better engineering but we don't have better good old boy relationships.

So we did a bake off for Epirus. Everybody went to this field and they're like 'You're gonna go first and we're gonna see how far away you can disable this drone.' They lined up and he's handing out binoculars. They're like 'What's this?' He's like 'You're gonna need these to see how far away we're gonna be able to disable this thing.' Then they won the bake off and won the contract."
