Extreme Family Data Tracking
Share
Ben Wilson shares a story about his wife's detailed tracking of their first year as parents.
"My wife collects stats and tracks all her mother stuff because we had a baby last November. She tracked some incredible numbers - her body produced 350 gallons of milk in 2021, which is crazy. She also kept track of how many nights she slept on the floor in our daughter's room - 104 nights, almost a third of the year.
The number of hours she spent nursing was 1,800. She even counted how many times our daughter wanted to read this Halloween book called 'Monsters Come Out Tonight' - 62 times.
She's just compulsive about tracking things. She's the type of person who in the morning will say 'Do you know what today is?' and I never know because she always knows weird anniversaries in her head. She'll say 'Oh it's 10 months since this happened.' She compulsively tracks little numbers in her head and apparently tracks them on her phone too."
