James Clear's Atomic Success

A story about how James Clear, a regular blogger from Ohio, became one of the most successful authors with his book Atomic Habits.

"James Clear, I knew him before the book. I talked to him before Atomic Habits and he was just a blogger in Ohio - didn't seem particularly fancy. His book has escalated in an incredible way. The first year was maybe like 100,000 copies, then the next year was 200,000, third year was a million, fourth year was 4 million, and the fifth year was 15 million.

I think now he's sold basically 20 million copies worldwide. His book has probably grossed like 150 to 200 million dollars worldwide. I might be off by 30 million in either direction, but I'm not off by half.

What's interesting is that while Tim Ferriss's 4-Hour Workweek, which was considered a huge book, sold about 2 million copies, Atomic Habits has done 10x more at 20 million copies. And now Clear has just launched an app with Andrew Wilkinson where Tiny owns 40% and James owns 60%."
